With the Houston Astros advancing to the American League Division series, fans are snapping up playoff gear in the Astros Team Store at Minute Maid Park.

Chris Jackson picked up some T-shirts and other post-season related gear.

“We weren’t supposed to be in this position, so right now this team is just feeling it and I don’t think they’re gonna get too big for the moment,” Jackson said.

“You think that’s part of the excitement — didn’t expect it, but here we are?” asked Ed Mayberry.

“Absolutely,” Jackson said. “It’s a little bit ahead of schedule, you know. We knew this team was on the right track, but this is a little bit earlier than we expected and I think that the players are feeling that too. There’s no pressure on them.”

Fans like Anthony Trejo are excited that even though they weren’t supposed to be in this position yet.

“So I just bought two post-season shirts, ‘Post season is ours’ shirt — yes! And I bought my son the ‘Take October’ shirt,” said Trejo.

“How old is your son?” asked Ed Mayberry.

“Ten.” Trejo answered.

“And he’s just as excited as your are about this?” asked Mayberry.

“Not as excited as I am, but last time we went to the post season, he was just a newborn. So to be where we’re at, it’s just excited as it is, ten years is way too long, so just hoping for the best!” Trejo answered.

After their shutout win over the Yankees last night, the Astros travel to Kansas City to face the Royals. The game against the defending American League champions is set for tomorrow night.
