Adrian Garcia Mayoral CandidateOn Tuesdays through Sept. 22, 2015, we offer you a chance to speak directly with the major candidates running to be the next mayor of the City of Houston. We continue on this edition with former Harris County Sheriff Adrian Garcia.

Garcia spent 23 years as an officer in the Houston Police Department before being tapped to serve as HPD’s liaison to and later director of Mayor Bob Lanier’s Anti-Gang Office.

Garcia then spent six years on the Houston City Council, and was Mayor Pro Tempore under Bill White. He was elected Harris County Sheriff Houston in 2008, and re-elected in 2012. This is his first run for mayor.
