It's no secret that Houston is a hub for human trafficking – so much so that, about a year ago, the City of Houston established the Mayor's Human Trafficking Task Force to combat this issue. Then, last month, Mayor Annise Parker went one step further by appointing the city's first human trafficking advisor, Minal Patel Davis.

News 88.7's Florian Martin recently sat down with Patel Davis to discuss her plans for the position, and he began by asking her where her interest in human trafficking came from.
