Negotiation and litigation are a part of life for city and county authorities here in Greater Houston. Unionized employees seek better pay and conditions; city and county residents seek court intervention when they believe government entities are acting improperly.

On this edition of Houston Matters, we talk with — and about — some of the folks engaged in such negotiations and lawsuits, from Houston’s firefighters to residents along Post Oak Boulevard upset with METRO, to plaintiffs seeking reimbursement for a drainage fee that helps fund ReBuild Houston.Â

Also this hour: Last week’s Houston Public Media News 88.7 FM/KHOU 11 voter poll indicates a majority of registered voters don’t want taxpayers to foot the bill to renovate the Astrodome. News 88.7’s Syeda Hasan will have a report.
