Southwest Airlines CEO Gary Kelly

Southwest Airlines announced on Wednesday it will offer a new international destination from Houston’s Hobby Airport. Starting on November 1st, the airline will offer non-stop flights to the city of Liberia in Southwest Airlines.

CEO Gary Kelly made the announcement under a huge Southwest Airlines tent in front of Houston City Hall.

“I’ve never been. I understand it is an awesome place go. So I can assure you I will now go. But that makes the second Costa Rican city for Southwest and the 97th destination on the Southwest route map,” Kelly said.

Tickets for the new flight go on sale on Thursday, May 14, 2015. Other international destinations out of Hobby include Mexico, Belize and Jamaica.

Hobby Airport’s international terminal is scheduled to open this fall.
