Monday marks the one year anniversary of when a barge in Galveston Bay struck a ship and sprung a leak, spilling about 170-thousand gallons of fuel oil into the Gulf of Mexico and onto nearby beaches. Hundreds of birds were covered in oil, many of which died as a result.

We'll look back at last year's spill, and find out what, if anything, came of it and the ensuing cleanup. Then, we'll consider what, if any, procedures might be worth reviewing following these more high-profile collisions and spills.
