Several Freeway Closures Across Greater Houston This Weekend

Besides the ongoing U.S. 290 construction, some toll roads will also be closed.

It’s going to be a busy weekend with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo in full swing and many schools on Spring Break. Some folks may want to start looknig for alternate routes to their destinations.

More closures are set for U.S. 290 as part of ongoing construction work. The eastbound mainlanes at the I-10 connector ramp will be closed from 6:00 a.m. Saturday to 6:00 a.m. Sunday. Hempstead Road under the 610 Loop is also closed.

Segments of local toll roads will also close. Both directions of the Hardy Toll Road will be shutdown between FM 1960  to I-45 from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Starting Saturday night, work is shutting down the Sam Houston Tollway from State Highway 249 to I-45 North from 10 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday.

And the Westpark Tollway eastbound will also be closed from FM 1464 to Gessner.

All roads are expected to reopen in time for the Monday morning rush hour.
