The City of Houston is launching a $500,000 effort to develop a citywide bicycling plan. It’s the first such comprehensive effort since 1994. On this edition of Houston Matters, we discuss efforts underway to develop the bike plan, its potential benefits for the city and changes Houston’s bicycling community would like to see.

We welcome your thoughts for Patrick Walsh, Director of the City of Houston Planning and Development Department, and Michael Payne, Executive Director of Bike Houston. Then, we talk with Jeff Taebel, Director of Community and Environmental Planning at the Houston-Galveston Area Council, about HGAC’s broader bicycle plan encompassing much of the Greater Houston region.
