We are in the midst of the 2014 holiday movie season. But that hasn’t stopped Hollywood from lining up movies for 2015 — and it has the potential to be the year of blockbuster.
This explosion of so called “tent-pole” movies include: a new “Star Wars” sequel, James Bond in “Spectre” and the return of “Jurrasic Park” with “Jurassic World.” Plus, don’t forget the reboot of the “Terminator” franchise, “The Avengers” sequel and the finale of “The Hunger Games” to name a few.
So how can all these blockbusters live up to the hype? Houston’s Joe Leydon is a film critic for “Variety”, and an adjunct professor at Houston Community College and the University of Houston.
Leydon weighs in on recent blockbuster trends. And, yes, the online trailers for “Star Wars,” “The Avengers” and “Jurassic World.” He talks about the buzz movie studios hope to create well before a feature comes out. As Yoda might say: “Begun the blockbuster trailers have.”
