VIDEO: How Houston Zoo Helps To Save Local Species

The Houston Zoo hopes to restore the Attwater Prairie Chicken population.

The Attwater Prairie Chicken is native to the Gulf Coast region, but an increasing human population and shrinking wild habiat have put the species in serious danger.

However, the Houston Zoo has been taking part in a program aimed towards increasing the number of prairie chickens in the region. In 2014, their work has paid off like never before.
