HPD Officer Shot While Responding To Call

A Houston police officer has been taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital this afternoon after being shot in an incident in North Houston.

A Houston police officer has been taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital this afternoon after being shot in an incident in North Houston.

A suspect has also been shot and taken to a Northwest hospital. At this time, it is not known of the supect’s condition.  

According to the Houston Police Department, neighbors reported a suspicious person with a weapon outside an apartment complex off of Airline Drive near Aldine Bender. The officer responded to the call and shots were fired. 

HPD has confirmed that the HPD officer involved in the shooting sustained what is being described as non-life-threatening injuries, because he was wearing a ballistics vest.
