New Houstonians and renters whose leases are up in the fall may be apartment hunting these days. While demand is consistently high here, there are lots of apartment developments to explore. The real challenge – finding an apartment with the amenities you want, at the price you want, in the location you want, when you want it.

There are people dedicated to helping you find such apartments. We talk with one such apartment broker, as well as an apartment manager, and discuss what you should know before signing a lease.

Also: the landlord/tenant experience doesn’t always go smoothly. Some tenants fail to pay their rent on time. Some landlords fail to tend to the properties they own or manage. We’ll focus on the latter, as we talk with city attorney Donna Edmundson, Section Chief of Neighborhood Services, who’s tasked with enforcing city code involving the condition of residential buildings.
