This spring, you might’ve enjoyed the occasional stroll through Hermann Park and its Japanese Garden. However, the garden’s many crepe myrtles, azaleas and cherry trees don’t stay beautiful on their own. Every year a team of master gardeners from Japan comes to Houston to tend to the garden.

Houston Public Media’s Ernie Manouse paid a visit the gardens with Jed Aplaca of the City of Houston’s Parks Department, who says the lush attraction is far more than just a garden.
