Houston Mayor Annise Parker has a lot to juggle in her role as Mayor: There’s management of the city, ensuring that all of its laws are properly enforced. There are ceremonial duties, as the city’s official representative at special events, ribbon cuttings, and meetings with officials and dignitaries. There are appointments to make; budgeting to maintain.
And unlike other big cities, here in Houston, the Mayor is not only an executive officer, but serves a legislative role as well, presiding over City Council with voting privileges.
On this edition of Houston Matters, we welcome your questions for Mayor Annise Parker.
