As today's cold weather and pockets of freezing rain and sleet remind us, we don't just have to think about heat, humidity and hurricanes in southeast Texas. It's Severe Weather Awareness Week, an opportunity to remind us all that – while we're far from Tornado Alley – twisters can and do touch down here on occasion, and we should be as prepared for them and for severe thunderstorms as we are hurricanes and floods. We talk with Dan Reilly, Warning Coordination Meteorologist for the National Weather Service's Houston/Galveston Weather Forecast Office.
