In a typical year, more than 60,000 people move to the Houston region. They tend to be young (the median age in Harris County is just under 33). In many cases, they’re here to start or advance their careers, because this is where the jobs are.
On this edition of Houston Matters, we’ll discuss what we know about “the new Houstonians,” folks who have arrived here in recent years, and are changing Greater Houston in many ways. We’ll talk about who they are with Patrick Jankowski, the Vice President of Research for the Greater Houston Partnership. And we’ll welcome your thoughts about how new Houstonians are changing the region.
Then, we’ll check in with Houston Public Media News 88.7 reporters Andrew Schneider, Laura Isensee and Gail DeLaughter to discuss how these new Houstonians are specifically impacting business, education and transportation in the region.
