Saturday marked the one year anniversary of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, Connecticut. Twenty children and six adults were killed. A year later, on this edition of Houston Matters, we consider gun violence here in Houston. Does Houston have more or fewer incidents of gun violence than other major U.S. cities? Is it getting better or worse here? And what efforts are underway to curb such violence in Houston?
We’ll talk it over with Ray Hunt, President of the Houston Police Officers' Union, Criminal Justice Professor Michael Cavanaugh from the University of Houston, and Gavriella Roisman, who lost her father to gun violence.
