Case Keenum To Start For The Texans This Sunday Against The Chiefs

The Houston Texans say former University of Houston quarterback Case Keenum will get the start under center Sunday against the Chiefs in Kansas City. Starter Matt Schaub was injured in last Sunday's loss against the Rams and won't play. Coach Kubiak says Keenum deserves a shot.

“He continues to grow. And we are struggling and we are looking for a spark. I think he deserves an opportunity to go out there. It is a tough place to play, tough place to get your first start … But I’m not sending him out there by himself. I’m sending hime out there with his team and the guys understand that.”

Keenum will start instead of back up T.J. Yates, who threw two interceptions against the Rams after Schaub was injured. The Texans have lost four games in a row.
