That’s when a gubernatorial election will be held to replace incumbent Rick Perry, who previously announced he will not seek another term in office. The plot thickened Thursday, when State Senator Wendy Davis officially threw her hat in the ring to run for Governor.

We discuss the political implications of Davis’s announcement, and what it may signal for efforts by folks at Battleground Texas to turn the Lone Star state blue and efforts among the GOP to keep control of the office of Governor, as Attorney General Greg Abbott seeks to succeed Governor Perry.
