As more and more new Houstonians arrive, many are contemplating whether or not to purchase a home. Interest rates are as low as they have ever been, and yet, for long-time renters who have never made that plunge into home buying, there is often an uneasy feeling that another shoe could drop, that depending on your own economic situation, taking on a mortgage just may not be the best idea. In fact, more people than ever are renting. How do you know when to pull the trigger, to stop paying rent and start building equity in a home?
