Updated 3:30 p.m.: As reported by the Daily News, the Resid Hydrotreating Unit at BP’s Texas City refinery sent a smoke cloud over the city Tuesday afternoon. Because it is a level 2 fire, no shelter in place or evacuations were ordered. No injuries reported.
Updated 2:30 p.m.: It has been reported that the fumes blackened from oil fire burning. Officials there say it may burn for a conserable time and that a lot of smoke may be seen as the result of it.
