Two Fuel Tanks Continue To Burn In Texas City

After an explosion near the Port of Galveston, two fuel tanks are burning.

A crude oil tank has exploded and two fuel tanks are burning at 4900 block of Old Port Industrial Boulevard in Galveston. No injuries have been reported.

City spokeswoman Alicia Cahill says two tanks were burning after the 7:30 p.m. Thursday explosion near the bridge to Pelican Island, just north of downtown Galveston. The facility is a biodiesel plant owned by Galveston Bay Biodiesel.

Surrounding county fire departments are battling the blaze.
