NASA-JSC Contractors to Host E-Waste Recycling Drive

The Johnson Space Center Contractors Environmental Partnership will host an electronic waste recycling and document shredding event this Saturday at Space Center Houston.

recycle logoThis will be the first time since the JSC contractors began hosting recycling drives three years ago that the group will offer document shredding as a service, in addition to e-waste collection. Jenny Baldwin is program manager for the environmental support services contract at NASA JSC.

“The last e-waste event that we did, we had over 500 cars that came through, so we usually have a very good response.”

Sims Recycling Solutions is sponsoring this year’s event and will recycle collected e-waste. Houston-based company Shred Pro will provide document-shredding services at the drop-off point.

The recycling event is free and open to the public. It will take place in the Space Center Houston parking lot from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. this Saturday, November 5th. A full list of the types of e-waste that will be accepted for recycling is available online at www.nasa.gov.
