Money doesn’t vote, people do, says Annise Parker, crediting her strong showing to her passionate supporters.

“This has been a grass roots campaign. I raised enough money to be competitive. I had really great organizational endorsements, but the men and women who came and volunteered night after night, day after day,  brought me here today, and into the lead going into the runoff.”

Parker is standing firm on the issues, saying she’s the only one with the experience to lead the city forward. Fiscal responsibility is one of Parker’s main themes, along with flood control, creating jobs, and fighting crime.
