New Manager of the Houston Astros Announced

Brad Mills is the new manager of the Houston Astros. The 52-year-old has managed 11 seasons in the minors, and will be managing in the majors for the first time.

Brad Mills:

“This organization—this city—has a very good name in Major League Baseball.  And the way they conduct business, the way they’ve done things in the past, is first class, and way they go about things.  and I’m thrilled to death and I’m excited to be involved in it to help us, to get on board, and to help us, keeping us going in the right direction.”

“Probably number one is putting coaching staff together. We’ve already talked about many guys and we’ve very excited about the names that we have available. But doing that, getting to know everyone in this organization, seeing everyone, meeting everyone, and seeing where we are all at, to get moving.”

The Astros fired Cecil Cooper on September 21st. Third-base Coach Dave Clark served as interim manager for the final 13 games, and Houston finished 74-88.
