Authorities don’t have much to go on.  In the early morning of Thursday, September 17th, a passerby spotted a motorcyclist’s body along Highway 90 at Miller Road #3.  They called in what they though was an accident.  When deputies arrived on the scene they realized the crash was no accident.

Orlando Aburto“He was shot one time.”

Harris County Homicide Sergeant Greg Clopton says the 25-year-old victim was found along the feeder road and was probably shot about 3AM.

“He was on his way home from having hung out with his friends. He left mid-town about 2:45. He was within one mile of home.”

And Sgt. Clopton says they don’t know much more then that. He thinks it may have been a case of road rage. He says people who do something like this usually talk about it to someone.  That’s where Crime Stoppers comes in.

Anyone who knows anything can call Crime Stoppers, leave your tip anonymously, and be eligible for up to a five thousand dollar reward. The number is 713-222-TIPS. That’s 713-222-T-I-P-S.

Sgt. Clopton says there was a road rage shooting in area the day before.

“Which involved a motorist who was shot while driving his vehicle east bound on I-10 which was 10-miles away.”

He says in that case the driver survived and, at this point, there is no reason to believe the cases are linked.
