Another Big Victory for the Cougars

In a sea of red-filled stadium seats, the University of Houston
scores another big win for the second week in a row. Gail Delaughter has the story.

The University of Houston moves up five spots in the Associated Press college football poll following Saturday night’s win over Texas Tech, 29-28.

Quarterback Case Keenum ran four yards for a touchdown with less than a minute left, leading the Cougars to victory before a record crowd at Robertson Stadium. Keenum says fan support has been tremendous.

“I can’t thank the fans enough for coming out and being loud. That’s the loudest I’ve ever heard the place. You know, Tech also showed a lot of people there too, and you know, a great atmosphere, a lot of fun. A lot of fun for everybody. And you know,  it was a good game.  I thank everyone for coming out and the excitement that built around the game.”

The undefeated Cougars now take the 12th spot in this week’s AP college poll, as they prepare for next Saturday’s Conference USA game against UTEP in El Paso. They don’t have any other ranked teams on their schedule. Amid all the buzz, UH coach Kevin Sumlin says they are taking it one game at a time.
