Officer Jesse Hamilton was the first to arrive at the trailer park located at Shaver and Queens. He soon learned the suspect did indeed have a weapon. Pasadena Assistant Chief Bud Corbett explains what happened from there.

“Very shortly after, the officer informed the dispatcher of the armed suspect, that gunfire erupted, and the officer was shot at least one time in the head.”

Mug Shot of suspect Sergo RoblesThe suspect, 24 year old Sergio Robles had reportedly just been released from jail the day before. He was behind bars about two weeks for driving under the influence. Police say Robles shot the officer Hamilton at the front door while the officer was speaking with the suspect’s mother.

“He was shot at close range. And he fell on the porch and the suspect was then shot at or near the porch. The officer was on the porch and suspect was found on the ground beside the porch.”

It was a second officer who arrived on the scene and shot the suspect as he stood near Officer Hamilton. Both men were airlifted to the hospital. Officer Hamilton died a short time later. The suspect remains in critical condition.
