A witness reported seeing a black truck following Jean out of the parking lot that night. Based on that, authorities arrested a friend of Jean’s who owns a black Ford F -150 pickup.
Twenty-five year old Wallace Ledet admits to driving Jean to the parking lot where de Jesus was taken, but says he had nothing to do with the kidnapping and murder.
In the meantime, Susana’s sister, Guilly Puente, says it’s hard going on without her.
“Yesterday, I was listening to the song “Wind Beneath My Wings”. And every single word on that song describes the way my sister is. She always made sure everybody was taken care of. She was not a selfish person. She never was.”
The family of the main suspect, Nicolas Gene, contacted activist Quanell to ask for help. What kind of help? We don’t know. Quanell X told the Houston Chronicle that Jean had mental health issues as a boy and one counselor diagnosed him as being bipolar.
“But the good thing is that she’s in God’s hands right now. She’s in heaven right now with her husband and her babies. That’s the comfort that we have right now.”
