LIST: Celebrate National Tequila Day at these Houston restaurants

Restaurants and bars around Houston are offering special drinks, food items and events to commemorate the day, with some offering deals throughout the weekend.

There are many occasions in which it’s appropriate to enjoy tequila, but perhaps none are more fitting than National Tequila Day, which is Sunday.

Several restaurants and bars around Houston are offering special drinks, food items and events to commemorate the day, with some offering deals throughout the weekend. And it’s not just places that typically specialize in Mexican or Tex-Mex cuisine. Some American, Asian and Italian-themed eateries are joining the fun as well.

Here is a rundown of several places where you can celebrate National Tequila Day:

Armandos | Tequilas Galore

2630 Westheimer Rd.

The longtime Mexican restaurant on Westheimer offers a wide variety of tequila- and mezcal-based drinks to enjoy on National Margarita Day. Armandos' menu includes 10 different margaritas as well as multiple varieties of mezcal and anejo, blanco and reposado tequilas.

Arnaldo Richards' Picos | Food & Drink Specials

3601 Kirby Dr.

National Tequila Day is National Tequila Weekend at Picos, which is offering five tequila-infused dishes and six curated tequila flights from Friday through Sunday. There also will be a tequila tasting event on Saturday with Cuervo and Sauza Hornitos.

Candente | Happy Hour

4306 Yoakum Blvd.

The Tex-Mex spot off Richmond Avenue is holding an all-day happy hour with $6 house margaritas and paloma cocktails.

Sunday hours are from 11 a.m.-9 p.m.

Como Social Club | Drink Special

2 Waterway Square, The Woodlands

National Tequila Day marks the debut of Como's new Sunday hours. To commemorate the occasion, The Woodlands social club is offering "The Old Cadillac" cocktail for $16.

Cyclone Anaya's | Drink Specials

Multiple locations

Cyclone Anaya's is celebrating National Tequila Day all the way through August with tequila specials at all six of its locations. The Avion Mexican Martini, made with Avion Silver, Cointreau, lime juice and olive juice, will be served tableside for $15. Also on offer will be Avion Tequila flights for $26.

Daily Gather | Live Music

800 Sorella Ct., Suite 940

The Greenie, Spicy Margarita and El Gran Diablo are among the tequila-based cocktails on offer at Daily Gather, which is located at City Centre's Main Green behind the Hotel Moran. Anthony Rogers will be performing live music on the plaza from 3-6 p.m.

El Big Bad Margarita Bar & Kitchen | Tequila Seminar

419 Travis St.

A tequila seminar is being offered that will include welcome cocktails, three flights of tequila, a taco bar and a seminar conducted by a brand ambassador. Additionally, more than 30 in-house tequila infusions will be for sale. Around 8 p.m., Grupo de Teatro Indigo will be on hand to promote its Oct. 29 theatrical production about Dia de los Muertos. Proceeds from bottle sales of a marigold-flavored tequila will benefit the group.

Tequila seminar tickets are $30 when purchased early.

Heights & Co. | Happy Hour

1343 Yale St.

Heights & Co. is offering four refreshing cocktails for National Tequila Day.

Sunday hours from noon-midnight.

H-Town Restaurant Group | Drink Specials

Multiple locations

Four of the company's restaurants – Caracol (2200 Post Oak Blvd.), Hugo's (1600 Westheimer Rd.), Urbe (1101 Uptown Park Blvd. Suite 12) and Xochi (1777 Walker St.) – will offer a discounted price on "The Greatest Margarita Ever Sold," which is usually $29. Also, on both Saturday and Sunday, one tequila at each restaurant will be sold for half price.

Kin Dee | Drink Special

1533 N. Shepherd Dr.

The Butterfly Thai Margarita, typically $16, will be sold for $14 all day for National Tequila Day. The cocktail is made with Don Julio Silver, Cointreau, lime and butterfly tea infused with lemongrass syrup.

Marmo | Drink Special

888 Westheimer Rd.

Montrose's new Italian steakhouse is offering a specially priced Margherite cocktail for National Tequila Day. It's made with tequila, honey, cantaloupe and smoked salt.

Specialty cocktail available for $8 from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Kitchen closes at 10 p.m.

Memorial Tacos | Tequila Tasting

7951 Katy Fwy., Suite T

A Casamigos tasting event will include a four-course meal and cocktail pairings. There also will be music and a local sketch and paint artist.

Event from 5-8 p.m. Tickets are $65.

Patterson Park | Tequila Samples

2205 Patterson St.

There will be a Patron "takeover" with Patron and paloma cocktail samples along with mini-Patron replica bottles on a first-come, first-served basis. Patron-branded photo opportunities will be available as well.

Pier 6 Seafood & Oyster House | Happy Hour

113 6th St. in San Leon

House margaritas will be available all day at happy hour prices. Reposado margaritas will be sold for $6.

Rosalie Italian Soul | Drink Specials

C. Baldwin Hotel, 400 Dallas St.

Celebrate with two specialty cocktails at the hotel restaurant: The Jessica Rabbit, featuring Cuervo Traditional Blanco Tequila, ginger, lime juice and sour cherry molasses; and the Italian Margarita, made with Milagro Tequila, Montenegro and lime.

Restaurant open from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and 5-9 p.m. Jessica Rabbit cocktails are $7. Italian Margaritas cost $10.

Tacos A Go Go | Margarita Specials

Multiple locations

All five locations are celebrating National Tequila Day all week. Tacos A Go Go will have a different margarita special each day.

Greenway, Heights, Midtown and Oak Forest locations open on Sunday.

Tobiuo Sushi & Bar | Tequila Cocktails

23501 Cinco Ranch Blvd. in Katy

If you don't think tequila pairs well with sushi, you might want to think again and head to Tobiuo. Among the tequila-based cocktails on offer are the Prickly Pear Margarita, Torched Paloma and Watermelon Mint.
