On this edition of Houston Matters, we talk with Dr. Nicolas Kanellos, the program’s executive director, about the most pressing issues for Houston-area Latinos and what issues he wants to research through this consortium.

Pearland’s Teenage School Board Member

In the May election, teenager Mike Floyd won a seat on the Pearland ISD's Board of Trustees. At the time, he was a senior about to graduate. So, before he graduated, he spent around three weeks as both a student and a school board member, simultaneously. We talk with Floyd about why he ran and what he hopes to accomplish in this role achieved at such a young age.
