We learn about a workshop to help teachers prepare their students to participate in the annual Mars Rover Model Celebration and Exhibition, in which Houston students design and create models of potential Mars rovers.
The program is designed to get kids interested in STEM fields and space exploration. Student teams will present their work at the citywide finals held Jan. 31, 2015, at UH.
The teacher seminars are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both Saturday, Sept. 20, and Saturday, Sept. 27, at the University of Houston’s Farish Hall, Kiva Room 101.
Registration information is at: http://marsrover.phys.uh.edu/workshop.php.
