Posted on November 21, 2023 · Senate Bill 4, recently passed by the Texas Legislature, allows local and state authorities to arrest people suspected of entering Texas illegally from a foreign country and also empowers county and state court judges to order their deportation if they are found to be in violation. Enforcement of immigration laws is the jurisdiction of the federal government.
