Jason LaMotte is an award-winning writer and director from Houston, having collected Silver Screen Awards for his writing, and Best Film and Best Director awards for his short films, the latest of which, The Terms, has featured at over 30 festivals worldwide, including the prestigious Tribeca and Los Angeles Film Festivals.
He began as a playwright in the theatre over ten years ago in the US, studying with three-time Pulitzer Prize winner Edward Albee, who eventually produced one of his plays, The Magic Hour.
LaMotte decided he wanted to make a short film about something that was near and dear to his own childhood in Houston, a library. He tells the story of what he hoped to achieve and the bigger message he was trying to convey.
