Harry Styles promotes Beto O’Rourke for Texas governor during Austin concert

Styles showed off a Beto for Texas sticker on his guitar to the roaring approval of the audience.

Pop star Harry Styles promoted the candidacy of Texas gubernatorial candidate Beto O'Rourke during a concert Sunday night in Austin.

Styles, currently in the middle of a residency at the Moody Center on the University of Texas campus, showed off a Beto for Texas sticker on his guitar to the roaring approval of the audience.

The camera for the videoboard zoomed in on the sticker and then flipped to show O'Rourke in the audience applauding. O'Rourke waved to the crowd, who continued their loud cheers and screams.

Other cell phone videos from inside the venue showed O'Rourke working the crowd and high-fiving concertgoers.

O'Rourke's surprise appearance at the concert came two days after the only debate between him and Gov. Greg Abbott in the race for Texas governor.

The last day to register to vote in the contest is October 11. Early voting begins October 24 and Election day is November 8.
