Houstonian Swifties are already participating in Taylor Swift's "The Eras" Tour at NRG Stadium by showing up for the merchandise truck that opened on Thursday.
One of the most popular music artists in the world will be in Houston this weekend for three sold-out concerts. Some Swift fans made sure to get there hours before sales started to get the prized gear.
Sara Rehman and Nabihah Vaid are two friends attending one of this weekend's three concerts. Rehman said they woke up early to buy merchandise at a truck outside the stadium.
"We've been here since 5 a.m. and you know, we've been lifelong Swifties," Rehman said.
Vaid added it's easy to like Swift because her music speaks to a wide audience.
"You can really just listen to her music at any point in your life and really just relate," she said.
Another duo of Swifties, Jailyn and Adrianna Lewis, shared similar sentiments.
"I like that she has a song for everybody. Like, there is not a problem she hasn't sung about or somebody can't relate to," Adrianna Lewis said.
Jailyn Lewis said she's liked Swift's songs since she was little.
"Obviously, everyone knows who Taylor Swift is. But [I] genuinely like, deep dove into her maybe like two years ago," she said.
Swift, who somewhat has Houston roots as her mother was raised in Houston and attended University of Houston, has already performed for her "The Eras" Tour in Dallas along with other cities. She will perform in Houston on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. In preparation, Judge Lina Hidalgo announced on social media that NRG Stadium would be renamed throughout the weekend as NRG Stadium (Taylor's version).
