Elton John’s final Houston concert cancelled due to Astros’ playoff run

A potential Game 6 of the 2022 World Series would take place at Minute Maid Park the same day an Elton John concert was supposed to happen.

It's all the Astros fault.

While Houston loves its baseball team, their success in the postseason has an unexpected casualty – what was supposed to be Elton John's final concert in Houston.

Astros officials announced Monday that the icon's scheduled performance on Friday, November 4 at Minute Maid Park is cancelled and won't be rescheduled. It was part of John’s “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” goodbye tour.

The reason?

"Due to the updated 2022 MLB Postseason schedule," the team said in a statement on its website.

Houston advanced to the American League Championship Series with an extra-innings win on Saturday in Seattle. If the Astros win the ALCS, a potential Game 6 of the World Series is scheduled for, you guessed it, Nov. 4 in Houston.

The Astros said ticket refunds will be automatically issued for people who purchased tickets and should be paid out by Nov. 18. Ticket buyers with additional questions can contact tickethelp@astros.com.
