The Houston Chamber Choir just released its fourth album, Soft Blink of Amber Light.

The ensemble turned twenty years old this year and works to increase awareness and appreciation of choral music. They also focus on local talent where possible by choosing Houston or Texas composers.

Robert Simpson is the choir’s artistic director, and he spoke with Houston Matters’ Edel Howlin about the group’s latest production, starting with where the name for the album came from.
