Houston native Kat Edmonson credits her mother for introducing her to the Great American Songbook. Her early exposure to the music fueled her desire to make a career as a singer and songwriter.

Edmonson gained notoriety in Austin for her performances at the Elephant Room. She’s performed with fellow Texans Willie Nelson and Lyle Lovett, and has been featured on Austin City Limits.

She tells Houston Matters’ Michael Hagerty her new album, The Big Picture, is inspired by her love of film.
