The coming weeks feature all manner of A-list rock and pop talent stopping through Greater Houston. Among the performers: Chris Isaak at the Arena Theatre tonight, Nine Inch Nails and Soundgarden at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in Spring tomorrow night, One Direction at NRG Stadium on Aug. 22, and the Backstreet Boys Aug. 31 at the Woodlands Pavilion.

Older rockers are rolling through too: Lynyrd Skynyrd, Crosby, Stills, and Nash and Steely Dan are all playing Houston this month, as are Buddy Guy, Ted Nugent, Panic at the Disco, Jesse McCartney, Better Than Ezra, The Polyphonic Spree, Brand New, and more.

We discuss who’s worth catching live in concert, and who you’re better off skipping, with Corey Deiterman, who writes about music for the Houston Press.
