Country music artist Mickey Gilley grew up singing alongside his cousins Jerry Lee Lewis and Jimmy Swaggart in Louisiana. Music was always going to be a part of his life, but it took him some time to achieve the success of Lewis and Swaggart.

After marrying and becoming a father at a young age, he found his way to Houston and that’s when things really took off.

Houston Matter’s Edel Howlin spoke with Mickey Gilley ahead of his Urban Cowboy themed show tonight with Johnny Lee at the Stafford Center.
