Jazz singer Danielle Reich grew up playing the piano and singing, and for a while performed with the Houston Grand Opera Chorus. But eventually she decided opera was too stressful but wanted to keep singing. So she starting taking lessons in jazz vocals at Houston Community College. But, as she tells Houston Matters’ Michael Hagerty, it took much longer before she was confident enough to fully make the switch between the very different worlds of opera and jazz.
