April is the 20th annual National Poetry Month. In conjunction, each Monday this month we’re meeting Houston-based poets.

On this edition, we meet Conor Bracken. Originally from Virginia, Bracken teaches and writes in Houston. His work has been published in — or forthcoming from — Handsome, the minnesota review, Ninth Letter, Puerto del Sol, and Thrush Poetry Journal, among others.

He’s held numerous jobs — including as an English tutor, a software tester and a food truck fry cook — and he tells us how they’ve shaped him as a poet. Then he reads his poem Rejected Euphemisms for Death.
