This weekend (March 12-15) swing dancers will converge on Houston for Lindyfest Lone Star Championships, a dance competition, workshop and overall excuse to do dances like the Lindy Hop, the Charleston and the Balboa.

You might remember the surge in swing dancing's popularity in the late 1990s, but Houston Matters' Michael Hagerty visited local dance studio, Houston Cats Corner, and reports that swing dance is still going strong in Houston, and plenty of those involved are getting more than just exercise.
