Singer/songwriter and Houston native Kat Edmonson.

Houston native Kat Edmonson credits her mother for introducing her to the Great American Songbook. Her early exposure to the music fueled her desire to make a career as a singer and songwriter.

Edmonson gained notoriety in Austin for her performances at the Elephant Room. She’s performed with fellow Texans Willie Nelson and Lyle Lovett, and has been featured on Austin City Limits.

Back in 2014, she told Houston Matters producer Michael Hagerty that her album, The Big Picture, was inspired by her love of film.

Edmonson’s latest album is called Old Fashioned Gal. She performed at The Heights Theater on May 20.
