The AURA Contemporary Ensemble is putting on a special concert that they call a "unique hybrid of music and theatre," centered around the theme of a murder mystery.

The concert was inspired by a piece by Bryce Dessner called Murder Ballades, which is a collection of actual songs from the 19th century about famous murders.

The performance will feature narration by actor Susan Koozin accompanying the music. Koozin will also read selections from the perspectives of victims, and at the end of the show will put on her detective hat to solve a whodunit case in the opera house itself.

Houston Matters producer Joshua Zinn tells us more about the unique concert that takes place at the University of Houston's Moores Opera House Friday, March 2, at 7:30 p.m.
