WATCH: Experience An “Unusual New Year’s Eve” At Downtown’s Rec Room

“Traci and Tony’s Unusual New Year’s Eve” is part rock opera; part Cyndi Lauper sing-along.

Writer/performer Traci Lavois Thiebaud and composer/arranger/director Tony Barilla collaborated on this short-and-sweet riff on the 1983 MTV New Year’s Special, which starred Cyndi Lauper performing songs from her debut album She’s So Unusual. Traci and Tony’s Unusual New Year’s Eve is a goofy and abstract mini-rock opera in which audiences are encouraged to sing and dance along in the casually-minded Rec Room theater space downtown.

Traci and Tony’s Unusual New Year’s Eve runs Thursdays – Saturdays, 9pm, Dec. 21 – Dec. 30.

Two special New Year’s Eve performances Sunday, Dec. 31, 9pm & 11pm.
