On this week’s Encore Houston, we feature a new group to the program: The Texas New Music Ensemble! True to their name, they perform contemporary music written by Texas-based composers. For this episode, we hear their first ever concert in August of 2014, featuring works by Donald Grantham, Marcus Maroney, Pierre Jalbert, and the ensemble’s founder and Artistic Director Chad Robinson. We also have a pair of encores from another concert from last fall.

New episodes of Encore Houston air Saturdays at 10 PM, with a repeat broadcast Sundays at 4 PM, all on Houston Public Media Classical.
