The Texas New Music Ensemble rounds off its fourth season this weekend with their annual summer concert, featuring five works from Houston-based composers. All of the pieces on the program were specifically commissioned for this concert, evoking a range of ideas from sitting in Houston traffic to playing on the musical traditions of the past. Chad Robinson, the ensemble’s founder and Artistic Director, is also looking forward to taking the group to other cities in the state for the first time in the coming season.
Listen to my conversation with Robinson above where we talk about the ensemble’s purpose, the five new works on the program, and a preview of what’s to come in the fifth season!
