Those are just a few entries in the new collection of cartoons by Houston Chronicle editorial cartoonist Nick Anderson called You Might Be From Texas If… illustrating some of the quintessential things that make Texas, well…Texas.

For the past 11 years, Anderson has worked as the cartoonist for the Chronicle and won a Pulitzer Prize for editorial cartooning in 2005.

Anderson’s not originally from Texas (he’s originally from Ohio), but he says he took extra care to make sure he truly caught the essence of Texas.

Michael Hagerty talks with Anderson about the book and his work as an editorial cartoonist.
